You Can Benefit from These PStL Services:
-
Each year, we product and print, 2,500 copies of our print directory that describes
our members' practices. PSTL delivers it free to area schools, churches, social-service
institutions, clinics, physicians, and therapists in the St. Louis area. Indexed
by problem area and containing answers to questions potential patients have
about entering therapy, it is a "must have" resource according to school counselors
who tell us how much they rely on it. Founding member
Julien Worland
and our administrative assistant Amy Camp edited the
2008 directory.
-
PSTL hosts this helpful website. As you
know, a lot of thoughtful patients now refer themselves to therapists they've
found on the internet, where searching is confidential and convenient. Our site is the most easy-to-use and thorough resource in St. Louis for finding therapists, and it receives about 1,200 visitors a week.
As you've probably discovered, potential patients can search for therapists by
specialty, treatment modality, gender, age-group served, and any special
services like evening and weekend hours. They can also study and print-out
detailed information on each therapist. The site results in more referrals for
PStL members.
-
PSTL offers a peer-consultation group in practice-building thanks to the
efforts of President Mike Gottfried, who says that the group shares
marketing ideas and motivates members to improve the business and marketing of
their practices. Therapists report back to one another, which makes them feel
more accountable for implementing their own plans. Contact
Mike
if you'd like more information.
-
PStL hosts a series of free evening lectures ("Euthymic Hours") for
members and guests, which offer chances for networking. Topics last year
included legal issues, websites, art therapy, practice building, and the
neurology of mental disorders. At the
Parker's Table in Clayton. CEUs contact hours available. Check the
listings for dates and
times. Guest psychotherapists always welcome.
-
PStL PR Chair is Perry Dodge. Some of our member-therapists are on our
speakers' bureau. Check the "Find a Speaker" page to see their names and the
topics of their presentations.
-
Finally, PSTL has an active e-mail list-serve where members share practice information and keep up-to-date with PSTL activities. Have a patient moving out of town? Starting a group?
Have a clinical question? Write an e-mail and quickly communicate with your fellow members. Founding member
Steve Franklin maintains this service for us.
